Advisory Groups

Feedback on how Superior HealthPlan serves you and your family is important to us. We work with trusted community groups across Texas to listen to members, caregivers, and youth.

These advisory groups share feedback, ideas, and concerns on behalf of members about Superior’s programs and services. Specialized Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) caseworkers lead the groups. The caseworkers gather feedback and updates from groups involved with Child Protective Services (CPS) or foster care. STAR Health member advocates participate in these meetings too. Member advocates help address any questions or information related to STAR Health or Medicaid benefits.

The groups Superior works with include:

  • Parent Collaboration Group – Parents who have received services from CPS share their experiences to help improve services for families.
  • Statewide Youth Leadership Council – Youth living in foster care share their experiences and ideas to help improve programs and services.
  • Statewide Kinship Collaboration Group – Family members who care for children provide feedback on how to better support kinship families and children.
  • Texas Foster Families Association – Foster parents and agency staff work together to suggest ways to improve care and services for youth and young adults in foster care.
