URGENT! Provider Re-Enrollment
Date: 06/09/16
The federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires all providers to re-enroll in state Medicaid programs every three to five years, depending on their provider type. The federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the deadline for re-enrollment to September 24, 2016; however, the state’s contractor, Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP), must receive applications by June 17, 2016 to ensure the re-enrollment process can be completed by the deadline and payments to providers can be continued.
This required re-enrollment is NOT the same as the credentialing process providers complete every three years with health plans. Credentialed providers must still submit the re-enrollment application to TMHP by June 17, 2016 in order to be eligible for reimbursement for dates of service after September 24, 2016.
If a re-enrollment application has not been submitted, please submit today; however, there is no guarantee that the application will be processed in time to meet the September 24, 2016 deadline. If you are not re-enrolled in Medicaid by September 24, 2016, Superior HealthPlan will be required to terminate your contract based on direction from the state that you are not a qualified Medicaid provider.
For more information on the re-enrollment process and a copy of the application, please visit the TMHP website at http://www.tmhp.com/Pages/Topics/Reenrollment.aspx.
