Is it the Flu or a Cold? Know the Symptoms!

Runny nose. Headache. Sore throat. Do you have the flu or is it just a cold? Check out the symptoms below to help you understand the difference between a cold or the flu.

It could be cold if you have:

  • Symptoms that start gradually.
  • A fever that is lower than a temperature of 100.3° F.
  • A sore throat.
  • A runny or stuffy nose.
  • A mild to moderate cough and/or are sneezing.
  • Been feeling tired.

It could be the flu if you have:

  • Symptoms that start suddenly.
  • A fever higher than a temperature of 100.4° F.
  • A headache.
  • A cough with chest discomfort.
  • Fatigue or weakness.
  • Body pain.
  • Body chills.

Flu shots are available at no cost to you. Talk to your doctor about getting vaccinated against flu and other respiratory illnesses like RSV.
