Foster Care Centers of Excellence Support
Date: 07/09/25
Launched in 2017, Superior’s Foster Care Centers of Excellence (FCCOE) model is designed to streamline services for STAR Health members. These centers work with children and youth who have been in and out foster care and may have experienced trauma. The FCCOE is made up of STAR Health network providers who have extensive foster care experience.
Together with the centers, Superior provides fast access to services. These include, but are not limited to:
- Urgent care
- Therapy
- Behavioral services
- Referrals to specialists
- Vision and dental services
- Prescriptions
- Immunizations
- Well Child Visits
The FCCOE serves as a one-stop shop for caregivers and caseworkers. They can assess the members’ health-care needs and connect them with help. This includes partnerships between:
- Primary Care Providers (PCPs)
- Foster parents/medical consenters
- Child/member Behavioral health providers
- Department of Family and Protective Services
- Child-placing agencies
- Superior HealthPlan
The FCCOE can provide services to STAR Health members on a one-time basis or serve as their PCP.
