Foster Care Expert Learning Series

Superior HealthPlan is proud to support the Foster Care Expert Learning Series, an essential training resource designed for providers who serve foster care and behavioral health populations, to enhance their understanding and care of children in foster care. The Foster Care Expert Learning Series was created by the UT Health San Antonio Wellness 360 Pediatrics team as web-based Continuing Education (CE) modules.
This series was created by content experts across different disciplines in health care with a common goal to disseminate evidence-based knowledge and best practices of caring for children in foster care and special populations.
- This learning series covers topics related to:
- The history of Texas child welfare system
- American Academy of Pediatrics standards of practice
- Education specifics of youth in foster care
- Types of visits and consenting
- Transitioning out of foster care
- Utilizing Telehealth in primary care
- Trafficking
- Care coordination
- Medical needs from a foster parent perspective
Upon completing of the series, participants are eligible for 8 free contact hours accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
