COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Extended by HHS until 11/30

Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) has extended the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE). This extension allows flexibilities and funding tied to the PHE to continue through November 30, 2020. 

With this extension, the various testing, screening, billing and telehealth coverages that were implemented in response to the COVID-19 PHE earlier this year will be extended to Superior HealthPlan members through late November, until the PHE is either terminated or extended again. This extension does not affect Superior’s additional Medicare coverages that are set to expire on December 31, 2020.

In accordance with this extension, Superior has updated the Provider Billing Guidance for COVID-19 Testing, Screening and Treatment information, as well as the COVID-19 Telehealth Guidance for Providers documents posted on the Coronavirus Updates webpage.
