COVID-19 Guidance for Durable Medical Equipment
To help ensure continuity of care during the COVID-19 response, Superior is no longer requiring Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers to obtain the member or member’s guardian signature on DME Certification and Receipt Forms. This is applicable for Medicaid (STAR, STAR Health, STAR Kids, STAR+PLUS), CHIP and Superior HealthPlan STAR+PLUS Medicare-Medicaid Plan (MMP) members. This guidance will remain in effect through December 31, 2021.
Beginning with dates of service on or after January 1, 2022, this COVID-19 flexibility will end, and the client or guardian signature requirement for the DME Certification and Receipt Form will resume.
