CME Credit Available for Pain Management and Opioid Course

Superior is offering a free Pain Management and Opioid course online for providers. One hour of complimentary CME credit is available for providers who complete the course.

This course will be presented by Karl J. Haake, MD, who currently serves as a consultant medical director for the Centene Corporation. He is an anesthesiologist who specializes in pain medicine and is certified by both the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine. Participants will learn about:

  • The opioid epidemic, its current scope and where we are now
  • Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain
  • Specific needs for chronic pain patients
  • Behavioral health for pain management
  • The stigma associated with opioid use disorder
  • Encouraging communication with patients
