Getting Behavioral Health Help Through Superior
Date: 03/26/20
Behavioral health refers to mental health and substance (alcohol and drug) use disorder treatment. Sometimes talking to friends or family can help you/your child work out a problem. When that is not enough, you should call your/your child’s doctor or Superior. We can connect you to mental health and substance-use disorder specialists that can help.
Contact us if you/your child:
- Can’t cope with daily life.
- Feel very sad, stressed or worried.
- Are not sleeping or eating well.
- Want to hurt yourself or others or has thoughts about hurting yourself.
- Are troubled by strange thoughts (such as hearing voices).
- Drink or use other substances more than usual.
- Have problems at work or at home.
- Seem to be having problems at school.
When you/your child have a mental health or substance use disorder problem, it is important for you to work with someone who knows you/your child. Superior can help find a provider who will be a good match.
You do not have to get a referral from your doctor to access behavioral health services. We will help you find the right provider. Call the number on the back of your/your child’s Superior member ID card to get help right away, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Please note: If you/your child are having a life-threatening behavioral health emergency, call 911.
